Museum of Theatre Puppets

Lübeck

This unique treasure of exhibits documents several centuries of puppetry tradition.

Theatre puppets, stages, props, posters and barrel organs collected from three centuries and three continents are displayed in this museum. The puppets recount tales of Indian myths, Chinese customs, African tribes or German fairs. Guided tours through the exhibition are offered in German and English on request. There is even a museum quiz for young people and adults.

Note: The Museum of Theatre Puppets will remain closed, probably until the end of 2023, due to extensive conversion work.
