Concerts and events by lecturers and students of the Lübeck University of Music take place daily during the semester. A special highlight is the Brahms Festival in spring.

The golden letters "Musikhochschule Lübeck" sparkle in the sunlight. Otherwise, the façade on the Obertrave, composed of historical and modern elements, barely reveals what is going on inside. Only when you enter the interior of the concert foyer through the purple double-leaf door does it become clear that music reigns in these rooms. One of the most beautiful and renowned music academies in Germany, the only music academy in Schleswig-Holstein, was built in a total of 22 historic merchants' houses.

With around 300 concerts a year, it is also Schleswig-Holstein's largest concert organizer. Anyone who is interested in music and appreciates the ambience and relaxed international atmosphere will quickly become a regular here. The students are on stage from the very beginning of their training as professional musicians. In music lessons, class evenings, examination concerts, symphony and choir concerts, opera performances or studio concerts, they give samples of their musical skills. The focus is on classical training, but jazz, rock and pop are also regularly on the program.

At the annual Brahms Festival, which delights audiences for a week every May with well-known and lesser-known compositions by the late Romantic composer, famous lecturers from the conservatory play.

On almost all evenings outside the vacations, at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m., listeners can listen to the performances and examinations of students from a wide range of styles free of charge. There is also an opportunity to gain a little insight during a guided tour of the city.
