Scheduled for completion in 2029, the Fehmarnbelt Fixed Link promises significant economic, sustainability and connectivity benefits for Germany, Denmark, the Schleswig-Holstein region and Hamburg. However, in order to capitalise fully on this opportunity, Germany needs to reduce its administrative burden and adopt a more pragmatic and flexible approach similar to that of Denmark. This discussion will examine how the new link can strengthen the region. It will also highlight the steps Germany needs to take to streamline regulations and encourage cross-border cooperation, in order to maximise the project's impact. What can Germany learn from Denmark? What opportunities exist for trade, tourism, mobility and cooperation?

Under the direction of Prof. Bernd Ruf, the MHL Big Band of the Lübeck University of Music is one of the top big bands in Schleswig-Holstein.
