Water is Lübeck's elixir of life, the lifeline that surrounds the city on all sides. Without water, Lübeck would not be Lübeck. From the Wakenitz to the river Trave and the mighty Baltic Sea, everything flows. Of course, we are drawn to the water and with the river Untertrave on the festival’s doorstep, so will you be. Whether you want to be shipped around on a boat or just sit down at the waterside; the possibilities are endless.
Water Adventure
Boat trips
Daily between 10am-6pm ● various Untertrave jetties
Admittedly, the HanseKulturFestival isn’t the only time you can explore Lübeck on our pretty barges, but “when in Rome!”. What’s great is that most of the boats set off from the Untertrave, so you can easily get on and off the boat from the festival site. The two providers, City-Schiffahrt and Quandt, as well as the Splashbus take you around the Old Town for around 1 hour between May and December.
