A growing number of people in Germany are opting to protect resources and the environment by sharing cargo bikes in towns. In this spirit, residents in Lübeck can also use the first free cargo bike made available through VELOAD.de. The concept “free” means that use of the cargo bike is not tied to a fixed usage fee. Users decide whether they would like to support the project financially or in practical terms.

This idea is prompting a rethink with regard to urban mobility and contributing to an urgently needed transport turnaround.
