Fairytale Forestat St. Mary’s

THE MAGIC OF CHRISTMAS MAKES US FEEL LIKE CHILDREN AGAIN

Come in, children large and small! Tucked away between Christmas fir trees, the fairytale forest at the foot of St. Mary’s Church welcomes story lovers.

Twenty beautifully designed little houses depicting well-known fairytale scenes can be found here. They are waiting to introduce you to the world of the Brothers Grimm. Many Lübeck residents have been visiting the fairytale forest in the run-up to Christ-mas since their childhood as the handmade figures have been on display for half a century. If you’ve worked up a Hansel and Gretel-like hunger after listening to the wonderful stories, there are lots of stands selling sweets and savoury food nearby where you can eat your fill. Little ones will love the children’s railway.
