Fairytale Forestat St. Mary’s

Tucked away between the Christmas firs, the entrance to the fairytale forest at the foot of St. Mary’s Church awaits you.  Twenty beautifully designed little houses depicting well-known fairytale scenes can be found here.  The figures and the narrators will whisk you away to the wonderful fairytale world of the Brothers Grimm.
For many residents of Lübeck, a visit to the fairytale forest in the run-up to Christmas has become a favourite ritual as the handmade figures have been displayed here for half a century already. Play “guess the fairytale” with your children and grandchildren. A permanent fixture on any stroll over the Christmas market.

Round the occasion off with a few laps on the children’s railway and a fabulous ride on the white horses of the nostalgic carousel and children’s eyes are sure to light up.
