Buddenbrook House

Lübeck

The baroque façade conceals what is probably one of the most unusual literary museums in the world.

Buddenbrook House constructed in 1758, is dedicated to the two authors Heinrich and Thomas Mann and the “Buddenbrooks”. The two permanent exhibitions, "The Buddenbrooks - a novel for the ages” and “The Manns - a family of novelists” bring to life a piece of Nobel prize-winning world literature.

Note: Due to extensive renovations, the museum will be closed from the end of December 2019 until September 2023. During this time, the temporary exhibition, The Mann Brothers, will be on display at the Behnhaus-Drägerhaus Museum.
