Löwen-Apotheke

Lübeck

Find history, healing and creative inspiration behind the brick facade of the Löwen-Apotheke.

The Löwen-Apotheke opened in Lübeck in 1812 and has been an important part of the city's history ever since. The patrician house, which has origins dating back to 1230, is an imposing example of Romanesque-Gothic architecture and bears witness to almost 800 years of eventful history. The prestigious Marcus Niendorf family has owned the pharmacy since 1898 and continues to proudly and devotedly carry on the tradition. Under the management of Marcus Niendorf, who has been running the pharmacy in the fourth generation since 1992, Löwen-Manufactur was established in 2006. Over the years, more than 60 herbal formulas have been developed here, providing simple and natural solutions for everyday needs. The Löwen Pharmacy and its manufactory are not only a fascinating testimony to the past, but also a place where tradition and innovation blend harmoniously.
