Schulgarten

Lübeck

A horticultural attraction in the middle of the beautiful recreational area around the Wakenitz.

Directly on the Wakenitz River, the school garden was first established in 1913 to introduce school children to horticultural work and applied biology. After World War II, the garden was restored and can now be visited free of charge as a botanical garden. Colorful perennial beds alternate with themed gardens such as the Alpinum or near-natural biotopes such as ponds and meadows with over 70 plant species - a green oasis within walking distance of the Old Town Island.
A map is available for download here.

Our cultural magazine Lübeck ZWISCHENZEILEN offers an interesting blog article on the school garden.
